"Simply the best car ever"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

It's been brilliant up till now, back brakes are freezing (probably) due to parking brake not fully disengaging.

The body is rusty on the bottom, but then it's ten years old and from Ontario.

General comments?

LOVE THIS CAR.. will definitely buy another METRO / SPRINT / FIREFLY / SWIFT, preferably a '94.. The 95 and later ones aren't quite as good on gas.

This one gets 50 MPG easily and is JUST AS MUCH FUN TO DRIVE as my previous two BMW sport sedans.

I own a 1990 firefly convertible and have had the following problems:

It's rusting badly on the running boards.

It just doesn't go fast enough! The high end pick up is nil.

It grinds into 3rd and is difficult to down shift to 2nd,

A number of plastic components have broken in the engine compartment.

It leaks, a lot!

However, it does have some pep, if you try real hard. And you would be very hard pressed to find a convertable for less.

The mileage is awesome.

My only recomendation is to go for a turbo version. They look way better and boost the hp from 49 to 70!
