"Amazingly fast, amazingly cool, amazingly cheap!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

This thing is a rocket - amazingly fast, very smooth - turns lots of heads! I've been told by some that the interior is tight. I'm 6'3'' and 275lbs and have no problems in the driver or passenger seat of this monster. If you're shelling out for a Z28 - upgrade to the SS - My SS with ttops leather and power everything was only 27K brand new. A steal.

I am extremely jealous of your SS! I want one real bad. That 350 and 6-speed has got to be sickeningly fast!!!

I've always wanted a SS Camaro and now I have one. It runs pretty good, fast in the carpool lane with my wife and two kids. They love it and I do too. It's very affordable and a good car to have.

This car is way too fast for a 17 year old, you are going to kill yourself!! Wait till you're about 28 and you should be OK!!

Answer to "Is it fast??" My stone-stock '98 Z28 did 146 mph at 3500 rpm. Could've easily done 160-165, but I was rapidly running out of I-10. Car no longer stock... email keeps55@aol.com for questions on mods.

I've owned 3 Camaros, '85 Z28, '88 V8 and now a 00 SS Convertible. This 4th generation is unreal, fast and a blast to drive. A REAL head turner!!!

Lucky Yanks.

Here in Australia we only get a few muscle cars and they cost heaps. You people have access to some very serious wheels for a bargain price!!

I'm 19, but my ex has a 2000 Camaro SS Convertible... that thing is AMAZING!! I love it, I've driven it... and I hope he doesn't trade it for anything in the world! For any of you thinking about purchasing one... GO FOR IT! And for the 14 yr old saving up for it... IT'LL BE WORTH ALL THE SAVING!

Well I don't own a SS but my friend does and it will eat any mustang for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!! These cars are unnaturally fast, they are possessed or something! Hopefully with some mods on my 5.0 I might be able to hang with my friend. (yeah right)

Anyone looking for a fast car needs to get one of these. I've invested about $5000 in my 2000 Z-28 and it will eat up just about any other car on the road. Once I get a supercharger on this baby it's all over.

Hi, I'm in the army and I am going to buy a Camaro ss pretty soon. I think that it will be worth all the money that I will spend on it and more. these cars really move quick. I've driven about 5 different ones and they ALL feel like a rocket ship. If anyone is thinking of getting one I think that it is the best thing to do. maybe we can even race one day. peace out everyone. I AM AN ARMY OF ONE. (laughing). oh yeah and the 14 year old kid. go for it man. its worth it.

Today I bought a 2000 Z28 Camaro and it is a pure HOSS!!! It's got power everything, T-tops, leather, CD, alarm, alloy wheels. Still need to read the manual to figure everything out. It already has a K&N filter and Flowmasters with chrome pipes out the back. Such a deep throaty growl, it makes me pump my fist and bark like Tim Allen. This thing is silky smooth and the acceleration is as sick as the boubonic plague. I almost got it sideways pulling out of the gas station and didn't even mean to, the torque and horse power is rediculous. Oh yeah, I filled it up and set the trip odometer and drove 130 miles and am just under three fourths of a tank. Try to tell me an LS1 doesn't get good gas mileage! I can cruise at 65mph at 1500 rpms. Besides that, I know that I'm faster than 90% of everything else on the road. That in itself is very satisfying. The Camaro and Firebird are true American muscle cars and it's just a shame that they went out of production, but the appeal and following of these amazing cars will never die.

Sorry dude, but the fuel gauge on these things isn't accurate. Once it pulls off of Full it just keeps dropping quicky. They don't get good gas mileage.
