1997 Dodge Caravan LX from North America - Comments

We had to replace the clock spring this year before we realized it was on recall. It cost us $220 which we were reimbursed.

We had to replace the lifters in 1999 which caused oil to leak. That cost us $800+.

We replaced the tensioner belt which seized twice for $300 each time.

The ignition lock went bad and we had to replace that for another $150.

We also have to have a brake job each year.

Now, there is something squeaking on the back passenger side of the vehicle that we have no idea what it is.

We have oil changes less than every 3000 miles because it leaks and burns quickly.

That's it for Dodge and me. We are moving onto something else.

I must say that you have put a lot of miles on the poor car in just 5 years. Maybe that was why you had to change the brakes so often and so many repairs. Also I think it matters to where you take your car to be serviced and what kind of job they do there.
