I bought my 199 Blazer off the lot with 14 miles on it.. Every ten thousand miles I have to replace components of the four wheel drive: encoder, module, pinions, seals yolks you name it what ever the 4 wheel drive had its been replaced 9 times, it was even proved as a lemon. I have to replace repeatedly the wiring in the 4 wheel drive. The heater core went. at 50 thousand miles, not a good thing in October, especially when my "Ultimate Warranty" don't cover it> had to replace warped rotors, ball joints, rocker idler arm... well I think you get the big picture on my p.o.s. Blazer.
These 1999 S10 LT Blazer's seriously need to be recalled.
I have invested way too much time in rental cars.
Time loss from work, and too many hours in the service department.
Not to mention to much time on the phone with the warranty department.
I seriously regret buying this Blazer.
The delco battery leaks acid, which destroys the shifter cable for the 4x4. GM vehicles also eat alternators, power steering units, A/C compressors, heater cores, intake manifold gaskets, fuel pumps, injectors, starters, batteries, computers, power windows, transmissions and engines.
Bottom line is, if you own a GM trade it. Ford and D/C are no better, and the European stuff is even worse. It's sad to say, but the Asians offer better cars that don't break (as often).
