1997 Asia Motors Towner SDX Coach Full from Brazil - Comments

"Useless piece of crap!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Everything that could possibly go wrong did!

There aren't Asia Motors dealers in Brazil. Well, there were; but after they went bankrupt, the dealers disappeared.

General comments?

A very poor car overall.

Probably one of the worst cars ever made!

The only good things about this car are the fuel economy, and the fact you will never get a high speed ticket, because it is VERY, VERY, VERY SLOW!!!

The Towner SDX is an excellent car. It is small from outside, but huge from inside. The engine is small and not powerful, but the car rates an excellent fuel consumption mark => up to 15 km/liter. It is easy to park, and the visibility of wide windshield and high level in driving position gives us a pleasant experience on street. Certainly, it is not a peppy car for quick maneuvers and racing. However, it fits well in a family budget. In addition, it allows multiple uses for commercial businesses. I own a 1997 model and I am very pleased. I use a wheelchair and I managed to adapt my little car with hand controls and a fold-able ramp. It is a very smart project for urban use, and it has a perfect name: Towner. I recommend it.

Well, some love, most hate that car...

I don't know what to think about it. Shall we buy or not buy one?

Is there anybody who owns one? Who used it really? Who drove over 50,000 miles with it???

Is Kia present in Brazil? Did they continue selling the Towner after they bought Asia? They might be able to help you.

I own an asia towner van, got it second hand from an importer, it's a nice car, handy, and runs well too over 100 km/hr. speed, easy to maintain, just adhere to maintenance rules. most of all, fuel economy!
