Well what to start with!!!
I have had two gear boxes put in.
Water pump x 2.
Powers steering pump x 1.
Diff x 1.
Disk breaks all round x 1.
A new drivers seat as the back snapped.
Air con pump x 1.
Tail shaft x 1.
In car fan.
Radiator x 1.
And now at 184000k's I'm up for a engine rebuild.
I would like to say all of the above has been done with my wife driving the car about 98% of the time. I just think that the old car last longer as I have a Chev impala which done not come close to the problems this car has had. I just think the car is not made like they have been in the past. I have hat to do all of the above as my wife just loves holden's and thinks commodore's are S**T HOT.
In the performance side of things the car go's very well as it has a LSD, sports system, cold air intake, lowered 2in's with 18in HSV GTS wheels it looks good and sound great if you didn't know what can go wrong with them I would let her get another one. I would like to say my wife is now going to by a Dodge RAM V8 now after driving a friends which i think is great as i need a new ute.
Sounds like its been thrashed if you had to replace the diff and the tailshaft.
Yes I agree, a broken diff=one whipped piece of machinery.
Remember, popular to contrary belief, road cars are not race track cars.
The Diffs are a known issue and are quite weak.
True. My VY ute is on its 3rd diff at 60,000 kays and it has really only ever done highway kays.
