Recurring clunk at near-side front when turning left & accelerating at any speed.
Water leaking into cab through windscreen seal.
Both of the above faults are as yet unresolved due to both non-availability of parts & the inability of the dealer to diagnose the noise, even though they can plainly hear it on test drives.
Neither fault spoiling the car for me though.
Replaced my written-off Charade with a 6 month old YRV, I have been pleasantly surprised by the performance of this car. For a 1.3 engine, the acceleration & general drive-ability is excellent, and the handling contrary to some review sites is excellent, causing me no scary moments when pushing the car hard. The biggest disappointment is the performance of the local dealer, who do not seem to be able to complete even the most basic of tasks successfully. Not to worry, at least the car is good!
I am one of the few who like the looks of this car too, I feel the front end is aggressive & looks the part while the rear end is quite stylish also, but more functional.
The interior is possibly a little on the "cheap" side & I feel the seats may be wearing prematurely, but other than that I love my YRV!
Go on, go & buy one, you know you want to!!!
Hi I myself own a YRV F speed, I have had it for a year now and its been a fantastic car,Like you I also think it looks great nice to find someone who likes it.
Hi, we are onto our second YRV we think they are great cars in both looks and function. Our second YRV is a Turbo 130 it looks great and generates lots of interest and wow does it shift, pushes you back into your seat.
Yes, the YRV is a great car and whilst there will be minor niggles with most cars, think what you would pay for a toyota YARIS Verso which is a very similar model from the parent company... silver is the best colour... it looks great in the sun and the glass roof a bonus...44000 trouble free miles on the clock and the car cost £3000...an absolute steal... go on buy one.

I have had my Daihatsu YRV for the past five years and I have never had a complaint about the engine. The only thing I did was to change the fan belt. The rear engine mount needs changing now. I changed brake pads once. The car's mileage is 152000 plus. It is a fantastic car. It is reliable and comfortable. What more can you ask for.
