The car just died on me. I went to a smart and final and when I came out to the car and tried to start it, it seemed like it wasn't operating on all 8 cylinders, I barely managed to get it into another stall where it died and wouldn't restart.
Rear hatch struts are weak and don't hold open the liftgate if the rear toneau cover is attached.
Growling noise from trans and or steering if turning a tight radius.
Overall, I really loved the power (until it died tonight - will have to have it towed to a dealer in the morning), but when it was running, it was tight, only a slight noise from the center console, but otherwise lots of power, smooth acceleration, and a really nice truck.
Just a comment about your "Growling Noise", My '93 Limited/5.2L, Quadra-Trac (Just reciently sold) Had a similar noise when it was hot outside and a hard turn was made. It turns out that the power steering pump was getting very hot which made the fluid thin. The fix was an external cooler, similar to a trans cooler (much smaller) for less than $20.
The fellow who purchased it Say's "Its never been better"
I hope this will help you, Chuck.
