"Never buy a car because it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I bought my Eclipse new, and was given 2 ignition keys. One of them did not work, so I had to wait a week to get a replacement with the correct laser sequence (or whatever they do).

After 20K, factory alarm went haywire every time I tried to get into my car. Had to take it back to the dealership twice to get it repaired.

Tires blew out 1 by 1 after a year. Replaced all 4 with Khumo's, and haven't had a problem since.

Brakes didn't feel like they could save my life if needed, so I replaced the pads and turned the rotors after 12K. No problems, except constant squealing.

Rattle in passenger dash area.

Replaced motor mount after 40K. I don't blame Mitsubishi for this fully, because those plastic things tend to not last in the Arizona heat. However, it could have been built better.

Steering wheel rattled badly over 55mph. Manufacturer issued a recall, and was "fixed." Still rattles over 65mph.

Bad ground wire in front right headlamp.

Clutch is slipping and ready to go out after 60K.

General comments?

Car sputters when moving from a stop in 1st gear.

Does not shift smoothly.

Alignment pulls to the right.

Mitsubishi Motors Credit financing is another nightmare!

Interior is comfortable to me. However, I'm 5' tall and weigh 90lbs. None of my passengers have felt the comfort. Anyone taller than 5'11" will be crunched into a ball.

Has the turning radius of an OX! Might as well be driving a boat.

I've only noticed a couple good things about this car.

1) Decent acceleration

2) Looks great.

I'm 16 and 6'3'' and fit into my car perfectly. I'm the proud owner of a 2000 eclipse RS. I am the third owner of this car which has served the last two perfectly for 51,700 miles. The car is a manual, which shifts perfectly. The only problem I've had is the leaky clutch slave cylinder. The brakes, rims, motor mount, radiator, and just about everything else on the car is factory, and functioning perfectly.
