I just purchased my 98 Sebring Convertible this year 2003.
Rear driver floorboard floods when it rains.
When it rains and the floorboards are wet the radio becomes a little ill.
The stitching around the rear window is coming apart.
The power antenna went out. Only cost $30.00 to repair.
I haven't made any expensive repairs just yet.
The Sebring Convertible is a great looking car. I get many, many comments on this car, especially when the top is down. The rear passenger seats are roomy and comfortable.
Overall it's a great car. I owned a 99 Plymouth Breeze, that was wrecked. It was leaking oil at 50,000 miles. I think a 98 Sebring Convertible at 80,000 + miles still running and looking good with no under the hood problems is a plus for me. If I had to buy another 98 Sebring, I would. I love this car!
For the guy with the flooding back seat... there is a rubber grommet or washer on the exterior of the car inside the front side of the rear wheel wells that you should pull out when the car sits/drives in heavy rain. Sloshing of the captured water in the quarter panels was bugging the hell out of me in wet months (which are few here in LA) so I pulled the stopper out and the water drains whenever the car is moving forward.
