2000 Jaguar XJ8 4 litre from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Brilliant improvement"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Absolutely nothing apart from two replacement stop lamp bulbs.

General comments?

This car is a 1000% improvement on my previous Daimler Sovereign (XJ6)

In 'sport' mode it is seriously fast, with braking & handling to match.

The engine is totally unobtrusive and uses 1 litre of (very expensive) oil per 10,000 miles.

My husband owns a 1999 s type and we have had to replace soooo much that I wouldn't trust jaguar again. now he has seen a 1996 xk8 and wants to trade it our 70000 mile in for the 107000mile xk8... is he completely mad...

It would be great if your husband browses this website and stumbles upon your comment! You should have married a smarter man! :)

I was going to comment that from what I have researched on the XJ that the Type S is not near the quality that the XJ (2001-2003) seems to have achieved. I noticed that you were talking about an XK rather than the XJ (I haven't researched the XK so I cannot comment on its quality). In any event, if I were him, I would trade you in for an extended warranty... just kidding! :)
