The radiator needed replaced at 80,000 miles.
Air conditioner needed repair at 70,000 miles.
The Integra (GSR model) has been a great, dependable and fun car. I purchased it in 1997 and have had 6 years of reliability from this car.
The only major repair was the air conditioner after approximately 5 years.
It was blowing cool, but not cold, so I had the condenser replaced.
For a car that is now 8 years old, it still runs as well as the day I bought it. Not only can I depend on the car, it is fast if driven as such. Gas mileage is decent, around 25 mpg in the city.
The only annoyances I notice with this car is that it is somewhat noisy. Also,
the seats aren't really comfortable, so it isn't that great for long trips (but then again, it is a sports car and not a luxury sedan).
I am sold on Acura's for their dependabiliyy. I owned a '91 Integra before this car and have just purchased a 2000 3.2 TL.
Seems like all Integra GS-Rs have their radiators go out at
~75-80K. mine had to replaced around 76K.
So far only what my mechanic calls wear-and-tear stuff
had to replaced/fixed:
- clutch master cylinder
- brakes (often)
- radiator (noted above)
- brake master? cylinder
only non wear-and-tear stuff i had to replace was a
A-pipe. that is the steel part that connects engine to
exhaust. some other reviewer also mentioned this. my mechanic
said this was a known Acura problem and suggested I go to
dealer and a get a "goodwill" repair from Acura. it was cool
that I was able to pull it off. stuck to that mechanic
since :-) (except the a-pipe for which I had to go to dealer).
