Transmission failure at 60000 miles. Replacement cost $9000. Rear speaker blown, triptronic shift failure, front disc brakes failure, engine noise, and ash tray gear.
Attention!!! Do not purchase from Audi!
It had 52000 on the clock when you bought it. Unfair to be so harsh when you can't know how the previous owner drove it.
It was most likely thrashed when you got it.
I purchased a new 2001 audi a4 quattro and at 60,004 miles my engine and oil compression light came on, I immediately had my car taken into audi servicing and they gave me an estimate of 9,800 dollars for repairs. I believe I am a responsible driver who takes car of my car (i.e-servicing, engine oilc hanges, etc..) and when I purchased a luxury car I expect reliabilty and that is not what I recieved when I purchased this lemon. DO NOT BUY AN AUDI (save some more and just buy a mercedes or bmw, or be smart maybe even a honda)
Regarding the 2001 Audi A4/Quattro. Audi is now replacing those engines for free. They are faulty. You may want to check with Audi since you had to replace engine in July. Maybe will all the problems they have had on this engine, they might reimburse you.
I was just driving my car down the road and the engine just stopped and would not re-start. Audi is replacing engine for free and it is not under warranty.
