Absolutely nothing yet.
I bought this car form the original owner who put the car in his garage on august 13th 1982. He has started it up once a week and gone around the block a few times.
He sold it to me for 4,000$. That sounds like a whole lot for a citation, but believe me this is most likely the NICEST 1982 Chevy Citation around.
I've always wanted a Citation and I bought this, I don't drive it much because it is truly a classic, but I love this car, it still looks, and smells like it just rolled off the line.
The car has absolutely no oil on the block, and not one little tiny bit of rust on the body, underbody, or anywhere else for the matter.
This car is quite powerful for a 4 cylinder, although its almost new still.
This old ride shines like a new penny I will always keep it the way it looks, and always drive my monza with the same 2.5 in the winter.
What an immaculate car!
I got a citation with only 25,000 miles. It also has the 2.5L 4 cylinder. They are VERY good engines with good transmissions also. Mine is also a 1982 and has an auto tranny. However it is in rough shape. The interior is cracked and falling apart. The exterior is in perfect condition. The engine is dirty and desperately needs a tune up. It has sat outside all of those 21 years. It hasn't seen the inside of a garage once. Plus I live in Canada with nasty winters! Hopefully the rest of the car will stay together around the engine and transmission lol.

I own a 1985 Citation with the 2.5 engine in it and yes they are powerfull and can haul!! Get this, I heard the engine is only 90 horsepower!!
As these cars age, you need to keep a lookout for rust and eliminate any rust you find by sanding it and then painting it.. This means ripping up the carpet and inspecting the metal floor for flaked paint or surface rust. Believe me, if you don't get it fixed, you are headin for real trouble!!
Also the engine is a 2.5 liter 4 clyinder. These engines have a tendency to leak oil from the valve cover and from the oilpan. After a few years you will notice the engine is covered in oil. The remedy is: Pull the engine and check the pan and valve cover for leaks and then replace the gaskets..
Good luck with your Citation!!
I also have an 82' Citation, it's a four door hatchback tu tone silver/red paint job, it has 90,000 miles and its in decent shape for its age, only a little surface rust, but the engine is covered in oil (thank you for the tip on the oil leak) it is not a quick leak, because I never see oil on the ground, but I know it is leaking because from the bottom of the valve cover all the way down theres nothing, but old oil/grease everywhere, it runs great though.
LONG LIVE THE CITATION!
The valve cover is easy to replace and only requires the removal of the air filter. If you get a new gasket, use gasket sealer. Anyone could do it.
By the way, have you been to chevytalk. org lately?

CITATION FOREVER!!!
The 4 cylinder engine IS 90 horsepower. Here is the proof
http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Chev/1980/Citation/1980CitationBrochure/20_JPG.html
Copy and paste that into your browser address bar.
It says "power rating---90*"
then down below it says
"*---horsepower of engine" or something like that.
These cars are durable, reliable and fairly quick. But they were not designed as a sports car or a "fast" car. They were designed for maximum fuel economy.
I was the reviewer of the 1982 review that mentions the 90 horsepower rating of the iron duke 4 banger.
Not trying to stir up trouble, just want people to get the facts straight about the citation:-)
The V6 developed 115 horsepower, pretty good for the early 80s.
The X-ll V6 made 135 horsepower I think... That is powerful for a light car like the citation.
Good luck with the 1000 mile citation, that would be cool.
Mine only has 25,000 but boy the interior is in bad shape, more things rip/fall off every day. But some work would restore it to new condition, however I don't have the time, nor the money to do it at 16 years old haha:-)

Hi.
I own a 1980 Citation Club Coupe with 1500 miles. It is still brand new. People said I was crazy for paying so much for the car, but I love it. It has the v-6 with automatic ps pb pw air. Glad to know someone else loves thier low mileage Citation.
