"An extremely reliable and fun car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

So far my power windows do not work which is probably just a simple connection as well as the fog lights which are just an extra option in the first place. I raced my buddies Mx-6 turbo and I schooled him. excellent deal for the car as the is nothing mechanically wrong with it.

General comments?

I love this car! As soon as I saw it I was immediatly in love with it. It handles magnificently and the speed and power that come out of the four banger turbo is amazing, considering its also 15 years old. This car will keep with with a mustang and a brand new grand am Gt with ram air, pretty good considering these are some of the top-of-the-line cars in these day and time. It was a steal of a deal at only 2000 Canadian dollars which I even felt a little guilty about because I already knew about its capabilities. A car I would recommend for a guy my age (18)

My 89 pgt turbo has 203,000 miles on it, we just installed a complete custom exhust 2 1/2",no cat to a re active duel cannister. a brand new turbo, the first one blew. new intercooler new clutch and pressure plates. the paint is all faded out, but that is about to change, painting it military flat black. i had 2 other probes before this one,90 2.2gl, and a 93 pgt. this car makes both of them look like garbage. the cold air intake makes a beautiful sound when shifting, it catches all of those honda lovers by complete surprise, as thier watching the probe logo dissappear from thier windshield. long live "the relic"

I have a 89 probe gt with 100,000miles its got a custom made flange for a garrett t3/t4 turbo. I'm running 18lbs of boost on.30 over piston with pauter rods and stock crank with Sealed power rings and bearings. I have 800cc 2nd gen rx7 injectors, 31" frontmount intercooler with 3" piping, 3" downpipe and catback exhaust, walbro 255hp fuel pump, aem fuel pressure regulator, fidanza 10.5lb flywheel with centerforce dual friction clutch, ported/polish head and portmatched intake and exhaust manifold, greddy E0-1 boost controller, HKS turbo timer, HKS cold air intake, unorthadox underdrive pulley, brembo drilled/slotted rotors, and Intrax lowering springs. It just got dynoed at 426whp and 297lbs torque at 4500rpms. Next step is 100shot of nitrous through the intercooler. Lots of time and money, but when I saw that 11.24 on the track it all was worth it!

I bought mine about 2 months ago (March 2008). Had some problems with the the computer things and the positive wire to the battery had to be replaced. But other than that, it was a steal. 1200$, only 65,000, one owner.

A K&N and a new exhaust, and shes taken on an AWD Passat, 240sx, Stealth, and of course any Civic. It kills Honduhs.

If you find a GT, jump on it. The car grows on you fast. The only thing missing from the cars is a limited slip, it will spin the tires through 2nd gear and scratch 3rd.

Where do I start... I've owned my 89 GT for about 6 years. I live in Levittown PA, and all joking aside, I'm well known for having "that turbo probe".

For starters the car is completely gutted... no interior at all, not even sound deadening tar.

Yes it's quite loud inside; huge front mount inter-cooler, solid inter-cooler piping, 190 high pressure fuel pump, rather large injectors, intake exhaust, etc etc. I could go on for hours.

Long story short, if you're seriously into street racing and you want people think you're driving a slow car that is a total sleeper, then buy a 89 GT!!! You'll be glad you did.

Yes, I have a 89 Probe GT, yes I kill Honda Civics with it, LOL this car is a blast... I have about 1500 in after market parts under the hood, and yes, the lack of after market parts is VERY crappy... still... nice little sleeper.
