"Brilliant!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear shocks needed replacing (they were the originals)

One coolant hose.

General comments?

Great car, would buy another. I really loved my Mazda!!!

I must say that I to drive a 1985 Mazda 323 1300 hatchback, and it has done 178 000 km now and still going beautifully!! I still drop many cars at the lights to this day. I have set up the interior for my custom delight and added some nice performance enhancers, but the car standard or not is brilliant! This review I totally agree with! :)

Mazda 323's are the best ever. I have a 84 323 with lowered sports suspension (king springs) and I did an engine conversion with a 13B rotary. Goes like the clappers and very reliable.

I'm 18, I have had my Mazda 323LX since March 06 when I found it at the side of the road looking rather sorry for itself. Purchased the car for £375 and Wow! what a bargain!! This car is a D plate from 1986, gold, 5 door hatchback with 70,000 genuine miles on the clock from its petrol 1.3. The car has been nothing, but cheap, reliable and so nice to drive. The only thing I did to it was some nice new tyres. It cruises to and from Cornwall in good time and cruises nicely at 60-70mph it can be pushed to 115mph, but doesn't sound to nice. The interior is brand new, as is everything else on it really. For a first car its been amazing and very very relieble. Big enough to get the friends in too. Lacks in power getting up some steep hills, just an extra bit of oomph needed I think. If anyone has come across any problems let me know! I would also like to see some pictures of original and maybe modified cars just out of interest. If you ever get a chance to get one of these models. Do It!!!
