Pretty much everything... The engine would break down if you looked at it funny. Not very comfortable.
I thought I was getting a deal when I first bought the car for about $700. I was seriously mistaken. I thought it was neat that it was a convertible, but there are gas scooters more powerful than this car. as a matter of fact a gas scooter would've been more reliable, this thing will break down if you looked at it funny.
Dear Mr. Jackson you must know how to drive that car because the Yugo is the most popular car on the Balkan. In America you are driving some huge cars, ugly, and Automatic transmission is everything you know. Try some manual transmission and learn how to drive a REAL car.
Best Regards Gogo from MACEDONIA
Here's a bulletin for Gogo in Macedonia:
First, "Mr. Jackson" does not write these reviews nor own any of these cars. He also does NOT live in America.
Second, not all of the cars in America are "huge" and have automatic transmissions. There are quite a few that have manual transmissions and people who know how to drive them-better than you.
Finally, the last really ugly car sold in America was-you guessed it-the Yugo. Fortunately almost all of them are now in junkyards or soon will be. The Yugo may be the "most popular car on the Balkan" but over here it is generally regarded as a total piece of CRAP!
First off, Mr. Jackson is completely right. Here in America, The yugo is considered a "disposable" car. Aparently in the Balkans, It is possible to just keep a car running. Here in the states we have guidelines and smog regulations and regular inspections. It amazes me that the yugo was ever able to be sold in the USA. Honestly, I am surprised that more people weren't killed in these things. They were so small that a large gust of wind coming off of a tractor and trailer could very well blow it off of the highway.
I agree that yugo isn't the best car in the world (not by far), but you got 2 things wrong:
- as far as regulations concernig emisions go... 10 yougos could't put out what 1 am. gas guzler does (H2 being at the top of the game in spueing crap from its 2" mufler)
- as far as danger - the car is not equiped withactive safety (airbags) but it is light and so stops fairly quickly and handles quite like a little race car thanks to the nin independant rear suspension and a low center of gravity... so if you drive like you should - you don't get killed.
What have we learned from all of this?
1) Mr. Jackson doesn't write the reviews.
2) Gogo likes Yugos
3) Most Americans don't.
4) Gogo doesn't think Americans can drive cars with manual transmissions
5) Gogo is wrong (about Mr. Jackson, Yugos, and Americans)!
The Yugo when it was imported into the US met the quality control and emissions control of the year of sale, else it could not have been sold.
Comparing a used car with a new car would be pointless, so how about some Co2 emissions data to compare and contrast the cars from the same year of manufacture and production?
Also, you mostly get what you pay for, if you buy a cheap low end car, do not compare it with a more luxurious, expensive model.
The review that this comment is attached to is about as useless as the excessive fandom review from Macedonia following it. It tells us nothing about the car, ownership and sounds like an ill thought out rant.
A thought occurs, how can one own a car and not be sure of the transmission? Either its automatic, or manual.
I suspect this review is a fake.
I'm coming from Bosnia-Herzegovina. After we got rid of Yugoslavia I can proudly say to Gogo: We might be on the Balkans, but Yugo finally vanished from our roads. Some retailer idiots are trying to get back with sale, but luckily people are smart enough not to buy that crap any more.
So what crap do they buy now? Volkswagens?
