Car had miss at idle-ended up being a leak in intake, but $300.00 later we finally figured it out
Had to replace just about all sensors.
You name it, we probably replaced it.
Car is pretty good, but when something goes wrong with it, it is difficult to find the problem.
Research has found that many of these cars have had similar problems and everyone had to replace all the parts I did as well to figure out the exact problem.
I have had problems keeping my Blazer running without dumping extra cash into it. Overall the little Blazer is a great get-around car, but when something goes bad, it seems to snowball (rebuilt engin needed at 100,000 miles due to a leaky head gasket). I also had trouble with the EGR valve. It seems like the repairs needed are always on the steep side. On the other hand, the Blazer now has 130,000 miles on it, so some preventative maintenence would go a long way to avoid more costly problems.
I agree, it's great when its running. Replaced the injector at 150,000, the ECM box, Fuel pump& relay at 160,000. For some reason they didn't put a screen in the EGR valve and carbon gets stuck in it. I've had it towed several times to the shop. It has somewhat high miles on it, but runs great and I would expect things to wear out, but it just all happened too close together. I really like it especially the digital dash, but I just can't trust it very far.
