Does require more maintenance than your average car.
Actually, this guy was complimenting the car's handling.
He was simply listing its electrical faults.
I would like to know, in what way it requires more maintenance than the average car?
Besides the usual oil change intrvals, a rotary motor requires periodic oil level checks. the rotary motor has to have oil injected into the combustion chamber for chamber lubrication, so there will be a oil consumption of around one quart of oil in between oil changes.
I'm glad someone had a good experience with an RX-7. Mine was slower than my non-turbo Dodge Omni, Rattled from one end to the other, leaked oil, was very hard to start and handled with all the sportiness of a '79 Pinto. It was the second slowest car I ever owned. The slowest was an '81 Escort. How these things ever could have been called "sports" cars is beyond me.
