"Great gas mileage and great motor"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Battery replaced

New manual transmission

New radiator (my fault)

Manifold gasket

Fuel pump went out

Fuel filter.

General comments?

Great car, gets great gas mileage. My motor wasn't tuned right I guess, it didn't have the greatest acceleration, but I guess most others have great pick up. Couldn't keep mine around long enough to get it tuned. Keep out of tall grass (that is how I lost mine) the catalytic converter caught the grass on fire and then melted a fuel line and made car go bye bye. I would have kept the car if it hadn't happend.

I put a ton of miles on this car when I was in high school and college before giving it to my younger brother with 93,000 on it. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the roomiest car on the planet. I'm convinced the motivation for this car was someone's snap-together model in the early 80s. It was 75 percent plastic. One rear shock went out after about 25,000, the other four years later.

Once I handed it over, the CV joints went out. So did the AC. Then an oil leak sprung. I tried to convince my brother to make it a drop-top (that would have been freaking awesome), but the engine burnt up on him one day and the car died.
