"The worst purchase I have ever made"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have had to have the front brakes replaced 13 times since I have had the vehicle. They only last approx. 6-7000 miles before the brake pads wear out and warp the rotors. I have had the ABS system replaced at 25k miles also. I have tried to get GM to find out why this problem is occurring, but all they wanted to do is just change the pads (a band-aid fix). Now that the warranty is out they want to totally tear the system apart to figure out the reason this is happening (by the way at my exepense first until they find out the problem, but they cannot give me a cost of this procedure until after it is complete). By the way I don't tow anything with my suburban and it is mostly driven on highway.

The electrical system in the dash seems to be going out. I can't figure out why. I have checked all of the fuses and they seem to be OK. the dash lights seen to flicker. The battery tests good so it isn't that.

General comments?

I have owned another Suburban before this one. It was a 1992 2wd with a 350 motor and it was the best vehicle I have ever owned. 169,000 miles on it when I sold it to get my new one. That was the biggest mistake I have ever made in the vehicle purchasing game. My 1999 Suburban is the worst vehicle I have ever owned.

I purchased a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 with 22400 miles on it. It now has 55,300 miles. I have replaced the alternator, ABS brake system and recurring warping of the disc brakes, transmission has been replaced and I have a recurring no start problem, that to date the dealer has not been able to identify. Sometimes it simply will not start and after setting it will. If anybody has this same problem, please contact me at vieau@bellsouth.net.

I have 1999 1500 suburban I bought with 60000 miles on it now has 187,450 miles only had to replace my fuel pump twice. First time my fault cheaped out and bought auto-zone fuel pump which only lasted 4 months. Now I have a factory replacement fuel pump and no more problems. I could not be happier. Also gets 20 mpg highway all day long. Best purchase I've ever done.
