The front right seat makes noise when a person above 60 kg. sits in it.
The cone of the speaker located in the front left door had been deformed ever since I bought it.
Noises appear when going on poor roads.
The boot cover refuses to lock normally. It has to be pushed down or slammed into position.
The engine is OK for its weight. The car has only 960 kg and the engine has 75 hp. Unfortunately it's a little bit noisy at high revs.
The suspension is too soft thus giving the riders a better comfort. The sad part is that the car is unstable when negotiating bends at high speed and tends to rock back and forth when crossing over bumps.
The interior is OK also for the category of the car. It has a digital display, digital speedometer and tachometer. It comes standard with cassette player and 4 speakers, central locking and engine immobilizer.
My opinion is that for 5450 EUR (+155 for metallic paint) the car is a good deal. Of course there are many things that must be worked on, but the price and the overall running costs make Solenza a good car for the middle-class Romanians.
OK.I'm back after almost one year since I wrote the review above. Unfortunately more problems occurred. The front right seat makes ever more disturbing and increased noise regardless if someone sits on it or not. The braking drums of the rear wheels blocked last winter (hope they won't do that again) plus (bonus) every time it rains or you go through water they start squealing and make awfull noise when braking. The right front wheel squeals form time to time, the dashboard makes cracking noises or something get loose in it about one a month. So you need to take it down and fix it on a regular basis. The door panels and the door locking/opening mechanisms are lo noisy when running on roads paved with cubic stone. I had to change the plastic grips of the front stabilzing rod at only 5000 km and they need regular changing. They're cheap, but very unreliable.
Overall a good car if you maintain it regularly (every week you have to repair something). If you have no money to spend in service (or you lack patience and nerves of steel because the mechanics are lousy) then Dacia is not the car for you. It's cheap, but it's not such a great deal. Personally, I would NEVER buy another car made by Dacia. It's time and nerves consuming.
