I rented a Kangoo several times from EasyRentACar in London. I enjoyed the car quite a bit and found it pretty comfortable. Sadly Easy-Car decided to discontinue offering the car. I asked two different people working there why they were dropping the car. They both responded that the Kangoo's were maintenance nightmares. They cited belt problems and said "things fall off a lot." I wish it weren't true as I really liked driving it and found the size useful.
I own a Kangoo for the last two years and had a lot of problems with it which have led me to take the decision to sell it.
The first problems were with the seat belts. They did not lock after a few months. The next problems were the electric windows, they stopped working on both sides (not at the same time).Then the back door did not lock. Then the engine went dead all of a sudden and this has happened three times in the last 4 months!
Even though I love it's design and the motor was quite good when it ran well, all these problems were a real disappointment and pain as the second time the engine left me I was stranded up the mountain and if I hadn't my mobile with me, I would still be there...
I suggest next time you go to another garage ;)
Good maintenance is a blessing, and a bad mechanic a curse.
