1994 BMW 3 Series 318is Coupe from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Solid relible sports coupe"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Radiator Blew a hole in it.

Brake Disc's and Pads.

General Servicing and Maintenance.

General comments?

For a 1.8 this car is immense. The engine is very torque happy at high revs and will pull right up in to the red. With 140 BHP the weight of the car isn't really noticible apart from the solid feeling.

Handling is excellent although I have 18" wheels and sports suspension fitted.

The car is always admired even though its seen as "old" I always get approached in the street with people saying they like it. It does have a full M3 Kit, M3 Interior and big wheels, but the standard car itself is a stunner.

I own a 1992 BMW 318is coupe (greatest car I've ever owned) yet according to my log book it has a 1.8lt (1796cc) engine not a 1.9lt as stated in the other comment!!!

I also have a 1994 318is 2 door and it is stated in the manual to have a 1.8 1796cc. I think the differnce is the american version and european. they are both the m42 engine just different displacemant.

I have a 1995 BMW 318iS which has a 1796cc engine. In the UK, from 1996 the 1796 engine was replaced by a 1895cc engine.

I own a 1994 BMW 318IS coupe, and I must say it's a great car. I'm very happy about it, I think they are sold way too cheap on the second hand market.

The interior in this car is great and it still looks great even though it is from 94. Even now people like my car, it just looks good, a great bmw.

Only problem of the car is that it has only 5 gears, it should have 6, because when you drive faster than 120km/h it starts to get loud.

Just so you guys know, 1996 (can't remember which month to be exact) and later models had a 1895cc (1.9 litre) engine 140 bhp and 133 lb/ft torque. earlier cars had 140 bhp / 129 lb/ft 1.8 litre engines)

I own a 1994 BMW 318is in HK. It is my first car and I really like it. Although the car is 10 years old, the performance is still good. I just need to refill the engine oil every 6 mths and the car will be kept in excellent condition.

I own a 1994 318 is coupe, I have had it for four years and it has been a great car, with very few problems. It always gets lots of interest and positive comments from people, who admire the styling modifications. I am pleased with the performance, along with the styling and interior comforts. This is one of the best looking cars i have owned.

Well thanks for clearing that up for me, re; the comments on 1.8/1.9 engines. I myself have a 1996 318is best car I have had. Uprated suspension and wheels and you have yourself a little monster, as long as like the previous person said you change your oil twice a year the car will be good for 280,000 and beyond.

Hell how much would you price a 1995 318is with 79.000 miles and full extra? I am about to buy it for about 3.000 £
