Brakes not very responsive, but they my just need agood service. Or new pads etc. Check engine soon light comes on, but just as you think about lifting the massive bonnet, it goes out,then stays out for a few days.
I got my firebird gta trans am from a friend who lost his job, so needed some cash quick. I think it's a real head turner,, its quick 5.0 litre v8,is smooth, very torquey, and seriously quick. It can beat almost anything off at the lights.
I need to make some body orkpairs,, generally paint work, around the rear wheel arches. But everything works fine.
It allways starts first time, especially since I replaced the bad starter motor & put the correct battery in.
I changed the oil & filter myself, dropped the coolant, then changed it.
The plugs were a nightmare to get at, but I got there in the end.
All in all I think the car is aral peach, i love it. I only use it at weekends as its too expensive to run to go back and forth to work in.
Get a year one manual for your GTA and it will have everything you need.
