Seats wore badly.
The car began to leak very badly within a few years of purchase, there was always a smell of mold in the car.
The car began to fog up when it was humid outside (I live in Tennessee so this was a bit of a problem)
At around 70,000 miles the car would be started in the morning and die. Sometimes it would do this two or three times before it ran properly.
This car was very uncomfortable, I drove to Florida in it and I had to stop every hundred miles because my legs were cramping up.
The seats are very uncomfortable.
The sound system was bad.
If you're over six feet you will not be able to ride very comfortably in this car. I didn't have much of a problem with it, but my boyfriends always did.
Though I have many complaints about this car, it would always get you where you wanted to go. I only had one experience where the car would not start at all for me, and that was because a belt broke.
I have a 93 escort Lx Hatchback (in the process of selling) I had the same problem with the mold smell. I know that there is a leak in the trunk and that the smell comes from there. Everytime it rains or snow or when I get a car wash water leaks from underneath the car into the trunk and it just makes the whole car smell so bad. Nobody could find the leak though. I would agree that the car will get from place to place, but I really couldnt stand the problems that did come up. I just bought a 94 Ford Probe GT. I love this car to death. Very big difference from the slow escort to a real fast Probe!!!
