I am ready for a third set of tires, with the first set being replaced at 9,000 miles (all feathered - Michelin), and now after another 10,000 miles, they are performing badly and feathered again. I had the most recent set rotated at 5,000 miles. I do not drive aggressively and believe there must be a defect in the wheels which is causing the tires to wear so quickly. They were replaced the first time by Warranty (and a lot of begging and pleading to the less than helpful dealership), we'll see how it goes this time.
The stereo system sounds good, but cannot handle a lot of bass or volume. Disappointing.
The quick acceleration from a dead stop is hard to get used to and I wonder if that is decreasing my MPG to about 23. Not very fuel efficient, but nonetheless..."she goes like crazy"...very zippy and sporty car.
This car is very eye appealing and extremely fun to drive. I have gotten a lot of negative comments about driving a "Hyundai", but I have had more people ask me what kind of car I'm driving, in pure admiration. I am very disappointed with the performance of the tires. Absent that little annoyance, and optimistic hope that the problem will be solved without cost to me, I would most certainly buy another XG350 when mine gets older. It's a very nice car for the $$$ and complete with a lot of bells and whistles.
I agree with the tire frustrations. I had mine replaced at 27,000 miles with Goodyear Assurance Triple Tred's and it is like having a new car.
It handles much better and is a lot more quiet.
Unlike the original equipment Michelin's they have a 80,000 mile warranty.
I am back in love with the car that I saw on the lot. I purchased it because of the look and the price to value for all the options that came along.
Dump the Michelin's ASAP!
I have also had very poor tire performance. I first noticed uneven wear on the original Michlin's at 10,000 miles. I paid for a wheel alignment because it was not convenient to get back to the dealer. I replaced the OE Michlin's at 37,000 miles as they were smooth. I put on a set of BF Goodrich T/A because they had the best mileage warranty for the price. After about 7,000 miles I had the first rotation and things have gone downhill from there. Have had to rotate and re-balance every 4-6,000 miles and now have 17,000 miles and they are down to 5/32 and are considered worn-out at 3/32. Therefore I have at best another 5,000 miles for a total of 22,000 on a 45,000 mile tire. I will try the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread's next time. Let me know if you are still pleased with them.
Hyundai has very cheap tire's.I had my XG350's tire's replaced at 27000 miles.
I've had my tire's replaced at 20000 miles. Hyundai has cheap tire's.
I also have had tire wear problems due to the alignment getting off. Have had the alignment done twice, and replaced my tires at 28K. Not a big deal. Also, the electronic throttle sucks for taking off in wet or snowy conditions. Other than that, Great Car.
I am on my 6th set of tires at 103,000 miles on a 2003 Sonata. I have had two alignments. Still eating up rear tires. Just found out with the second alignment that there is absolutely nothing that can be done because there is no cam adjustment for the rear tires. I am now replacing rear springs and struts. Hyundai has to know that there is a problem and they are not doing anything about it. Some of the tires I have bought Toyo & Michelin - all had 60,000 miles warranties. I think Hyundai should correct the problem and put out a recall. It is a mechanical problem with the vehicle.
