Nothing at all!minor servicing is all I have had to do, a result of its superb maintenance in the hands of the ambulance service.
The vehicle is pretty quick for its size, although it weighs about 3 tons even without the ambulance equipment in the back and you are aware of all this weight. the engine provides enough power to wheelspin it if you are that way inclined. as you would expect, with the big V6 engine and all that bodywork, fuel consumption is heavy, typically about 18mpg. it doesnt like strong crosswinds, and the non-assisted steering is far too heavy.
I find the final drive ratio is too low, it revs too hard on the motorway
My dad has just purchased a similar vehicle and agrees about the performance and economy. The only trouble is he has found problems with the charging system and it is proving to be a needle in a haystack!! he has has the ecu tested and ruled this out, also has put on a new alternator and still no joy - anybody got any more ideas??
Whats the problem? is it not charging? I would check all the extra "ambulance" wiring- ie, 20amp cable for defibrillator, battery cables going to the power cut off junction box under the bonnet etc. there is A LOT of extra wiring in an ambulance over a standard transit, I would suspect this first.
Update-I recently had problems with the batteries going flat overnight on the ambulance, I just started pulling fuses in the auxilliary fuse box in the glove compartment until the voltmeter reading went up to normnal. its fine now.
