So far nothing at all, this car really impressed me it was a left over from 01 and never sold and I bought this car for 5500.00 american dollars, i took a chance with the daewoo banctruptcy and also got a extended warranty, I have to say being "brand new"i think this will be a good car.
I really like the Lanos, it looks nice and this model has pwr windows, locks, stereo cd, sport rims, and all for $5500.00 american dollars, I was driving an 89 shadow before this Lanos, and what a difference, this car feels solid, and is a lot more car than the shadow was! I have 900 miles on the car now and so far no problems, it starts right up, drives wonderful, and the car feels safe, I wish it had a cloth headliner, the cardboard feel of the headliner is cheap!! but for now that's all ""bad"" I can say about the car, try to find a car that had 000038 miles on it, with the equiptment this one had on it for $5500.00. I was impressed with the price, and the fit and finish on my Lanos is above average also. lets see if it runs well over time. but for now I'm impressed with the Lanos!
You got a good deal... some other dude on this site paid $13K for an '02 Lanos just about a year ago. Granted that was a Sport with leather n stuff, but still...
I just purchased a 2001 Lanos as a second car. It has 31,000 miles and seems to be in OK condition. I am locked out of the radio and can't get the code for it and that is frustrating to me. It needs a front end alignment, but I have an extended warranty so I will take it back and go from there.
Well hello all again!!!
More to report on my 01 lanos!!!
It is now april 2007, my lanos now has 13,500 miles on it and not 1 problem has arisen it starts right up and I have ben happy with it!!
I have a 2001 Daewoo Lanos that was purchased with 4100 miles on it. I just put the 109,000 mile on it and the only problem I have had with it is having to replace the water pump. I love this car and will give it to my son when he starts driving.
Our Lanos is the Sporty version (Body work by Karmen Gia) (01) red with black leather and red piping. Other than some Recaro racing seats, chrome spinners on low profiles and the nav system this is one sweet little ride right out the box. Ours just hit 80 k miles on it with zero problems.
We drive it 65 MPH and it runs along at that speed no problem. It will kick up to 75 briefly in merging situations, but generally we run no faster than 68 MPH. At that speed, with with the windows rolled up and AC pumping it's a good freeway cruiser and fun to drive. It is also hip too fill it with a Jackson what with gas reaching 4 bucks a gallon. We are very happy with this car and still amazed at how much room we have to pack stuff in the back. Our plan is to give it to our teens to use as their first car (After the radio telemetry devise is sequestered in the wheel well)
I own a 2001 lanos and I purchused it brand new. I have never had any problems with the car, I have maintained it myself oil change spark plugs air filter and the like; not even a flat tire an I have put 15500 km o it. What a reliable car has been. I love it and never sell it. keep it as a second car. also own a 03 BMW x5 4.4l. my bimmer has been a big disappointmnt I have spend more money fixing it than tha Lanos cost me brand new.
