Radiator leak- discovered by dealer and replaced under warranty.
Oil leak from transfer case (twice) - several days off road for rebuild.
Rain water leak in cabin - 4 attempts by dealer to fix it and the leak is still there!
Tough unit - off road regularly and never a problem.
Comfort - bad driver seating position for anyone 6ft plus.
Great load carrier - hauled 3/4 tonne gross trailer and fully loaded tray for 800km with no problem.
I have owned a 1993 rodeo dlx 2x4 dual cab for the last 3 yrs. Not much off road use, but used every day as regular transport. I have only had a leaking radiator, replaced the water pump and hand brake cable, The exhaust system tends to leak a lot, when bought at 150000 k's now 226000.I have found it to be very reliable and the 2600 (man) petrol engine pulls (and tows) like a train, and it will pull in 5th gear better than most. A bit rough to ride in and fairly noisey and the parts are expensive to buy. Needs aircon as it gets very hot in summer inside (the cool setting on the heater is not cool, and this is tassie) but overall it's strong, very reliable and handles reasonably well for what it is.
I have owned a rodeo 2000 lt space cab 4x4 turbo deisel for more than three years never had a problem besides having to change brakes. With regular services this beast will be driven by my son when he gets his license and it gets its fair share of off roading and is very capable of doing many things in the bush. I love my rodeo. I have a set of mud terrain on and also have all terain both work great depending where I am Many offroaders have been very suprised by the strength and durabiltity of the rodeo and some have been a little embarresed.
