Had to have seal on engine replaced.
Tie rods snapped on front wheels.
Transmission blew out this month (Feb 04)
Anyone else have transmission problems?
Don't know whether to dump car or fix it.
I really like the car, but the past year it is falling apart.
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon Es.. I bouht it new, however they assured me that it was a great deal for me bc I do a lot of driving... I have had the tie rod's break TWICE! Oil leaks, Transmission problems, the thing is FALLING APART, and it only gets worse!! Definately NOT worth it to fix!!!
I have had a 2000 automatic Neon since it was new. I respected the maintenance program I used mopar parts.
My first disappoint was when it was new and I went to a highway, the 3 speed automatic transmission wasn’t enough to reach higher speeds than 100 Km per hour without making a lot of noise cause the motor was forcing, reaching very high speeds.
Now it has 84 000 Kilometers and have had the next problems:
I have to seal several leaks of water in the windshield and in the trunk.
Several times failed several relays for :
A/C relay, the relay that starts the car, the relay of the gas pump, the horn relay.
The electric locks of the right door, I have to change it twice.
It is very difficult to change the gas filter.
The dashboard is pealling.
At 83000 Km the water pump fails and I took advantage to ask mechanics to chance all bands and antifreeze liquid.
I have to change 5 tires because the Goodyear tires eagle LS 185/15/60 are very bad.. I have better results with Mexican tires Tornell of that same size.
Now the transmission blew out. When I shift automatic gear to D it doesn’t works.
I believe that in general it was a very bad product.
