I can't even begin to remember
everything that has gone wrong with this car. It has been a nightmare.
The rotors and the brakes have been repaired twice since I have had it.
When I reach about 60 mph, there is a very high-pitched noise. There are many other noises that cannot be explained.
The air conditioner just went out. Not only does it not blow cool air, it blows hot air when it is turned off and that blows then stops then blows again.
There have been electrical problems that can't be explained.
I once had a few plastic spoons in my glove box which I surprisingly found melted to the glove box. The spoons are still there. I can't begin to understand this car.
Every time I look at my Malibu, I just want to kick it. The trade-in value is terrible and I would and could never sell this car to someone. I will just have to take a loss to get rid of this car.
I will never buy another Chevrolet- especially a Malibu. Please take my advice and watch out for this car. It's a rip-off.
I miss my 1992 Honda Accord. And it had 211,000 miles on it!
Trust me when I say I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing with you. I also own a Malibu. My review is in the 1999 year. It's titled A Nightmare. I really chuckled out loud at your spoon comment. LOL. My car only has 47,000 miles and the lights flicker on and off. Only when it rains though! LOL.
While I didn't have the pleasure of experiencing the a/c problems, or the electrical problems, I was special enough to have the malibu that decided life was not worth living at the tender age of 3 years and 11 months. the manifold gasket, head gasket and intake gasket all went out together in a cloud of white smoke. I blame it on the fact that the dealership wasnt exactly fluent in the language of DEX-COOL. I'm not even gonna waste space reiterating all the other problems you faced, as we all have with this car. but I told the dealer credit be damned, come and get it, its dead. even then they waited 3 weeks before deciding that I might be serious.
