Nothing went wrong I was very happy about this it really made me smile...
This car is a crazy rocket on 4 wheels. I've never driven anything like this beast, I've even owned a escort Rs turbo and it was great, but doesn't touch the lotus. When those turbo's cut in it's like being on a roller coaster ride, the only comfort is knowing that I have brakes, and good brakes they are as well. Suffice to say I have nearly spun this beast out on a few occasions, because of the wet weather, but I am sure for all you rear wheel driver drivers, you'll know what I mean.
Well as a lotus driver I can say only this you see a rs turbo is just a family shopping car that has had a nippy engine put in along with hard suspension put on get your self to a track with a instructor and see what this car can realy do ps this is not a critisisam, but sound advice welcome to the world of real sports cars have fun.
"Ford are crap and slow"
And what planet are you living on? I have a 370 bhp Cosworth in the garage that would argue otherwise. 0-60 in 4.46 seconds and 178 mph. Both timed on calibrated kit.
Get a grip mate.
To the guy with the ford the stock Lotus Exige has 177 hp and a 1.8 4 cylinder engine and hapened to match that cosworth's 0-60 time and it corners very fast since its MR. The Esprit is one hell of a car and is high quality and I am convinced that ford really means fix or repair daily. It shows there is no competition between a Lotus and a ford.

Oh, dear. if ford are that crap, then how have they managed to win more competitions than most other car companies in the world in most of the catogories in the world. Especially equipped with a cosworth, no chalenge.
Some Lotus cars, if done right, are just plain mean off the line. If you take a twin turbo and stagger the turbos, both feeding the whole engine - one small, and one stage3 size, you can almost eliminate the turbo lag and get huge boost in the highs as well. Then, change the gearing, which will lower the top speed, but get you to your new top speed in record shattering times. This Esprit V8 twin turbo can beat most fords out there, but if you get the smaller, crappy looking escourt Mustangs from the late 80's/early 90's, with a 5.0 V8 and a massive super charger running 60k rpms, and boosting the engine with an 80% increase in HP, with an $1100 intercooler to keep it from roasting, you can just about run neck and neck with the Lotus. But... the Lotus is sleeker, and stiffer. But in the end, if you look at the price tags, even after modifications, the Ford really is the best bang for the buck. And if you add nitrous, you can use a heavier Mustang model such as the 99-04 style, and beef it up to a horrendous amt. And the SVT's have one hell of a suspension package. Either way, neither company deserves to be ripped on, because both cars can perform, especially with the right driver. I've been in a Lotus that did 0-60 in 1.7 seconds, but I've been in a Mustang that did it in 2.4 but hit a higher top speed. They both stick the turns, and options are about equal. The cogswell... One hell of a car for the price. But it has a hard time standing up to the 04 Elise. Even with the lack of HP in the Elise, most drivers want to give it a better rating than the 360 Modena, except hesitate because it can't really accelerate in the turn. But damn, can it hold one.
I have an Elise, and it's brilliant. It's the new Toyota-engined model and is reliable. I have always heard that Esprits are unreliable, so you are really lucky. By the way, I love the caption.
