I've got a wagon R+, and totally agree with the comments. Best value car I've ever had, will pack a 6' dining room table in the back, about $30 to fill for 500km after 7 years of city driving. And the 60,000km service last week cost me $128 (that's everything). My only complaint is the air vent cable has broken twice i.e. no more de-mister.
From Scotland, agree with comments very much. A year gone October I traded in a Renault Espace 2000 GT for a Wagon R 1200cc (Mileometer 52000 miles) A great car to drive, amazingly spacious inside, I carried some eight foot timbers with rear door closed. Performance surprised me. On first long run, loaded, I was passing larger MPVs uphill in 5th gear without trying to. They had passed me before hill, but the incline slowed them. It would easily cope with a higher fifth gear ratio.
A little advice, the Wagon R has just had a re-call to replace cable linkage from gear stick to box.
