I had to replace the alternator at about 87000 miles.
This truck has been well worth the money. The performance, power and reliability is second to none!
Besides regular maintenance I have only had one thing break (the alternator). Other than that it has been very reliable and still is.
The only little complaint I have is that it loves to drink gas. I only get about 15 to 16 mpg with my 5.0 liter V8.
I own a 1996 c1500 chyne and I must tell you that it has been the very best truck I have owned. I have around 56k on her and she still purrrrrs like a sweet baby... I have had to replace the alt and have a new gasket on the intake fixed and replaced the battery and power brake booster... and the fuel pump which the dealer took care of. my wife is the sole driver and she keeps her truck like show room condition... smells brand new inside still... had to also replace the a/c compressor... nor sure if some repair shops really say what is wrong or if they are ripping us off at times... your comments and reviews are very well written.
I drive a 97 Cheyenne, but It has a lot of miles on it, about 110000, I still love every moment driving it. The Cheyenne is a great truck.
