Only problem was a rear window that constantly rattled- took it into the dealer 3 times- finally replaced the hinges and greased it up a lot.
Very good car- it won't get girls, but as a family car it rocks!
THE DURATEC ENGINE IS THE WAY TO GO!!!
Not only is this a very reliable engine (is in the Taurus, Escape, future 500, past contour, and probably a few other cars models as well) but it really can move the car. Don't even notice a change coming out of toll plazas under a full load (1200lbs!!!)
Can seat 8 in the wagon (3f, 3r, 2t)
seats not the best, but I am a 6 footer, so it takes a lot to please me in a seat
Also very good in the snow for a front driver
But very pleased, only changed the oil, fixed the rear window rattle, and gassed it up.
I'd love to find a good Taurus wagon in great shape to haul my dog in. I love the styling, the cars are rock solid, and the wagon is such a handy and yet attractive alternative to a boxy SUV or van. Before buying a 2006 Ranger back in January of 2006, I looked high and low for a good used Taurus wagon in a sporty color, but couldn't find one. We've owned lots of Fords and they are extremely reliable. One of ours went over 300,000 miles with virtually no repairs.
