Nothing.
Just changed brakes twice and oil (standard service).
It is a very good car, not high performance, but very reliable.
Hydraulic system id doing a very good job with keeping this car on road even in the tight corners at very high speed (unlike XM), when at the same time it is very comfortably even on the bumpy roads.
I have tested my Xantia and my fathers XM 2.0 turbo on the tight cornering mounting road in Montenegro and had bather time with Xantia then the XM even when XM is in the sport mode.
This is a very economical car, parts are not expensive and don't spend too much fuel about 10 - 11L / 100km when changing gears at 5.500rpm and with normal drive about 8L/100km.
Only thing that you have to keep your eye on is the oil when you driving it fast because 1.8l 16v motors love to drink little oil when driving fast (unlike 1.8l 8v).
Fabric speakers are pretty good I just changed the stereo. Interior is good quality, no cheap plastic, everything is right in the place.
This is not a sport car, the transmission is little slow, but if you like sport driving and at the same time you won't comfortable family car buy Xantia 2.0 turbo or 3.0 V6.
Hi,
I also have Xantia 1.8i Temptation (97th) (last 3 years), and I am very satisfied with this car. Handsome line, comfortable interior, reliable engine and chassis. The only thing I had to change was water pump (I've payed 30 Euros for new pump and installation - which is not expensive)
There are two things that I can set as "complaint" (but they are not so tragic)
1. Right door mirror does not respond (almost at all) to moving interior button. But I have heard from lot of people who drive the (any) Citroen the same complain - so it seems it is common problem for (older) Citroen cars. I was wondering to buy electrical driven mirrors.
2. The box in-front of right front seet is unreasonable small and the existence of a rod above it, is something that is probably some miss of Xantia designers. Just to mention that recent models of Xantia removed that "mistake" and made it normal.
Well, mentioned two complaints are not the reason to be unsatisfied with Xantia.
