"Bad reliability from Nissan"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Engine is completely gone!!! transmission problems, AC doesn't work, breaks do not work, car bearly goes on the road, batter leaked, and at times does not start.

General comments?

A car that can promise well, but doesn't. This car is pretty plain on the outside, and not much on the interior. Not cheap on gas. Now the car just sits in the garage.

280,000km's?! What do you expect man. There are a million Dodge & Chevy owners out there who would float away to heaven if someone told them they'd get 280,000km's out of their engine & tranny. A lot of cars never see mileage that high. Reliability 0/10? Yeah right...

Wait just a minute... Did you buy this car new? Do you have any idea how it was serviced up until you bought it? I just purchased a 1990 Maxima with 113K on it (miles not kilos) and it performed flawlessly driving it 994 miles in 13 hours. It also got over 26 mpg, not bad for a 14 year old car. Think about what you have and what condition it is in, I have a two owner car that looks new and I gave less than 10% of new price...

Own a 1990 Nissan Maxima with 218,000 miles! Still a very good automobile and am thinking about driving it another 100,000. Never any transmission trouble and engine has never been touched except for starter replacement. Never uses a drop of oil between changes ; 3,000 to 4,000 miles. Replaced timing belt when it was 50,000 miles over due and it still ran great before I changed it out. Excellent gas mileage too. Only real problem I have is a rattle in the front end that sounds like a loose shock would, but may be the struts. Only one window will roll down now. Have trouble in the control buttons I believe.
