All build up with cheap stuff. Low quality audio system, cheap seats, Ultra cheap & low quality remote alarm. Nothing is good in it!
If it was not because of Kancil was the cheapest car in Malaysia (I mean new 1st hand car) RM28K++. I will not even think about buying it!
If I know early, I will rather get a 2nd hand car than buying the stupid made in Malaysia car- Kancil.
If I get rich someday, I will not buy any car made from Malaysia. It is not worth to buy local made cars and 100% no value for your money!!!
To me, the question of buying or not buying is not solely depend on whether it is `cheap material made' nor `expensive material made'. Look at Volvo. Though it is deem to be one of the expensive car, you can still see it parked at Junk Centre. The same applies to Mercedes, Alfa, Ford etc.
Try to evaluate positively by many factors. Don't simply because you can't afford to buy an expensive one, you easily condemn the other one. Very poor commenter.
Hello there mister, I appreciate your comments on the 'lousy Kancil' but please be practical and rasional. The point here is, if you can't afford to buy a more expensive car, please shut up and drive your faithful kancil or you can take our public transport or you can even walk.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I believe he has a very true insight. We are paying a fortune for cars in Malaysia, while at the same time getting poor quality products. RM$ 28,000 for a low end car is a tremendous fortune especially for an average income earner. If nobody voice out about this we all might be driving kancils one day or utilising the public transport.
I own a 660 cc Kancil and its fine on the road. Infact it can bring you into terrain of rough sawit estates even. The only 2 things I do not agree regarding this fun car are:
1. the price is too high. The price range should be from RM 15,000 (660cc) to RM 17,000 (850cc).Why burden the low income people like me to pay so much for the necessity (these days) of owning a Kancil.
2.the difference between the 660cc and the 850 cc models should be on the pricing alone because of the engine capacity difference. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY DIFFERENCE IN TERMS OF THE CAR BODY AND THEIR ACCESSORIES. I suggest the 660cc model body and accessories be the same as in the 850cc model.
There is no way to get a local made car with RM15000 - 17000 since they dun have their own engine. So, the cost per car already increase, if they invent their own engine and produce in Malaysia then our low cost car can be made within RM15000 - RM25000 else it is impossible to get such low price. Anyway, local made car should focus on their quality to increase local people's confidence against local made car otherwise it is no blame we support imported car. They should rethink whats the problems and whats our needs and wants.
Oooohhh...KANCIL is a good and cute car...
I suggest fitting the Kancil with a Yamaha or Honda motorbike engine in order to reduce the price, so most of the low income groups of people will be able to own one. Compared to a motorbike, it is much safer.
When it is pouring with rain, petrol prices sky rocketing and I have my week's shopping to take home, not forgetting the kids got to be picked up from school.
All these on my husband's meagre labourer's salary. Give me a Kancil and you can keep your motorbikes and buses.
In the UK the Kancil was called the Nippa (Kancil is too similar to the English word cancel) and only came with the 850cc engine. Our Nippa 850EX was fabulously reliable and well made-maybe not the most expensive materials were used, but it appeared to be well put together and it never failed us. We were so impressed, we then bought a Kelisa GXi, and now a Myvi SXi (see both reports from 4th May, and comments since).
Are we the only people in the UK to have owned three Peroduas?!
Well I have to say that I rented one for two weeks because I had an accident with my car and was at the repair shop. I mean the only word to describe this car is scrap. It handles badly and gives no idication before it starts to overturn if you turn a little bit hard. After to weeks the wheel bearings were humming so much they were doing more sound than the engine. Driving and ergonomics are hopeless.
You may think I am exagerating - drive one after you have driven a couple of good cars and you come to my same conclusion. I came to love more my beloved renault.

It is a budget car..! If you had a daily hire Kancil, that was last in production years ago, it has probably seen some very hard use over a long time with different drivers giving it hell because it was not a good as their more powerful and more expensive car.
You get what you pay for-the Kancil (Nippa in UK) is an honest little car that was reliable and cheap-only £4300 new in UK at the time a Ford Ka was £7500.
It may not be as good as other cars-but price for price it was OK.
Our little Nippa (Kancil) was not the best car in the world, but gave great service and longevity for a low price-I suppose it depends on what you expect?
I'm not here to comment anything.i;m thinking of buying a car. Proton Kancil is the first one I think of. As many people mention, the fuel is increasing, this increase many people interest in buying it. Now got even NGV can be fixed to our car in order to lower down our burden. i hope to get some comment whether it is suitable to fix it to proton kancil 850EX.
Hello.. its not proton kancil! it is "perodua kancil"..
Hahahahaaa... this is a joke.. proton kancil...? hehehee.
