1993 Isuzu Trooper Duty from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Big tough armoured personnel carrier"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Indicator relay unit repeatedly failed causing indicators to fail on one or both sides. My 'local' Isuzu dealer advised parts over £100, and I got them for less than £40 in the trade. This is probably related to the tow bar fitted sometime in it's history.

General comments?

I bought this as a second car for off road use: it had seen a hard life (bits of trim missing etc) but was mechanically OK. Replacement trim etc just clips back in- the major parts have lasted very well.

Great driving position, although I wish the seat would go a bit further back.

The original Isuzu bull bars have rusted very badly and are due for replacement with an A Frame bar.

SUPERB off road performance and will pull anything, although tyres will affect offroad grip a lot - Avon's are good.

The headlights aren't up to the job - I am planning to replace with brighter bulbs.

On-road manners aren't great, but you shouldn't expect this in a 4x4 - I have had no problems in any weather.

Fuel economy is not great, especially in 4WD, but driven gently I can get 25mpg from the V6. Tall gearing helps - I can chug from 30-80mph in top. Although, with the high performance air filters, it is quick from 0-30, but is slurping unleaded at a scary rate. So do what I did, and get LPG'd up!

By the way this is from the UK so apologies for the way we spell!

So am I correct in understanding that your Trooper has an LPG conversion? Any details, parts sources, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
