Small tear on side of seat, but was my fault.
Well, this is the "COOL" midsize van. Seriously though. The shape is still futuristic, a spoiler, short nose, a front sunroof, a huge rear moonroof, and great interior, dark tint on 5 windows, and all this is factory! I think this is the coolest looking van to date. Always reliable, you don't need to fear a long trip. The best I have ever owned, and if the engine ever R.I.P. 's, I will pay to put another one in. Love it! Don't get the 91, it has some recalls. Somehow they made the 2.4 4banger have great accel and speed... and great on gas... duh.
The only recall so far I know of on the '91 is the radio; a wiring flaw in it can cause the radio to catch fire, so most '91 owners will need to get that replaced.
Other than that, they're all good; my '94 has 240,000 miles now and still has yet to have any real problems.
Good?! They're great! :P.
It's quite sad that these vans are not brought to the US anymore, I would have really wanted to buy one of the new-generation ones.
After seeing all the problems with the Sienna, I'd rather hold on to the Previa for some time, even if it lacks some of the features the Sienna has.
I just got a '94 Previa LE with high mileage from an original owner. Aside from getting the basics done to it for passing a smog, this is a very well engineered van. I've researched the competition and to date, this is my third Toyota product. Very COOL van, indeed!
Oct'07 From Canada: We owned a 92 Previa for the past 3 years, Best van ever owned! Often wondered how they would perform in a crash, Unfortunately, recently we were in a head on collision: (However, it performed to the end even in the crash! Myself and my 5 children all walked away with minor injuries (we were traveling 80+km (50m/hr) at impact). The design of this vehicle is unbelievable, the front was completely totaled, but would still run and the frame didn't move! The other vehicle didn't stand a chance with the way Toyota designed this one!
With 165,000 miles (originally from the states) it ran like a dream. In the 3 years we owned it we may have spent ??$500.00 on it in repairs other than tires and brakes. Excellent Van, we're now on the hunt for another, don't want anything else! even if it is 15 years old!
