1997 Geo Tracker from North America - Comments

So far, so good. Nothing at this point, every now and then reverse makes a terrible clunk going in.

I love this truck! All my life I have owned cars out of necessity, a mini van because for the kids, then grand kids. When we decided to buy a different vehicle, we wanted a car just for the sheer fun of it. I hadn't considered a Tracker, thinking a 4 X 4 would be out of our price range, when I saw the Tracker I was amazed at the price listings for them, really reasonable, and a great bargain, money well spent. You should see the looks we get when we cruise with the top off! This is a really cute rig. It just plain attracts attention. The gas mileage is awesome. It handles great on the beach & sand. Easy to put in 4 X 4. Very light clutch. I am handicapped and have no trouble with the clutch. It corners well. Very responsive, however it Tends to be hard to control in a good wind. Not really a problem for us, considering the advantages. All in all, we made a good decision. We love out Tracker! We will buy another one if the opportunity comes along!

I have a 97 4 door AT/4wd with 89k on it that I bought new. I am going to have it detailed and painted this year. I simply haven't found another car like it. I plan to keep using it as our weekend and backup vehicle. I'm 6'6" and can still drive it comfortably for short trips. If you're just now getting into a Tracker, buy a repair manual, keep the fluids fresh, replace stuff when it needs it, and have fun!
