"Precise handling and reliability"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Wiring short due to theft attempt. Both horns and security/hood switch had to be replaced at a cost of $550.00 Canadian funds.

General comments?

I've had this vehicle since new and have never had to visit the dealership for unscheduled maintenance other than damage caused by an attempted theft. 7 years later and 160 000 km, and the 1.6EL runs the same as the day I bought it.

The handling on this car is its most appealing feature. The engine is adequate, but not overly powerful. You need to be willing to drive this car at high rpm to extract any performance from it.

Braking is excellent and so is the brake wear. I replaced my first set of brakes at 120 000 km.

A separate set of snow/winter tires are highly recommended.

Definitely fun for those occasional bursts of speed when passing.

Hey everyone. I have a 1997 1.6 EL and I absolutely love it. It five speed and it's a quick car. Very roomy too. Anyways do any of you know where I can get gold 1.6EL and acura wording for the back trunk?? Dealer says you can't get them anymore, but I have the A symbol in gold, but would like the rest on the back end gold too. I have dark green paint and the gold looks really smart on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
