"Great Car, but horrible warranty"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

O2 sensor has gone.

Passenger mat clip doesn't work.

Back seat belt clip doesn't rotate, so it damages my back seat when the seat gets folded down.

Paint chips very easily.

My trunk door has to be slammed very hard to shut otherwise it doesn't close.

Nothing apparently is covered under the warranty, so it all gets paid out of my pocket.

My front tire has a constant slow leak.

General comments?

I love my 2001 Tiburon, but my warranty just ran out two months ago, and now it seems like it's falling apart. When I've taking my car into the dealership to get it fixed, they tell me that nothing can be fixed under warranty. Make sure that you see them actually put what they say in the computer, otherwise they change their story very quickly when you come back down the road to get things fixed again.

The car is a great car, but the worse thing about the whole car is how Hyundai treats its car owners. I'm very not impressed.

I completely agree with you. My 2001 Tiburon has been a problem since day 1. The air conditioning systems has a very foul odor in the summer when you first turn it on and whenever I bring it in they tell me it's fine or there is nothing they can do about it.

The service department of three locations on Long Island have been rude and unhelpful to me. When I had them do an oil change they actually gave me back the car without the oil cap!

At about 60,000 miles my crank shaft broke and they were trying to say it was my fault and it may not be covered under the warranty. It was, but the fact is that they do treat their car owners terribly.

As the days go on it just seems like it is one thing after another with repairs.

I understand that there is a lot of mileage, but that truly is no excuse. My old VW Fox had about 90,000 miles on it and it rarely gave me any issues.

I would not recomend Hyundai and will never buy another.

Just to comment on both the reviewer's car and the guy that put down the first comment. Have you thought why your cars are breaking down so much is that you have a lemon car. It's not unheard of Hyundai to have cars that are poorly made. I'd say from 2002 on is where the quality of the cars skyrocketed. I'd look for forums for people who have lemon cars from Hyundai. If you search google you'll find some websites that'll have discussions.

I hope this helped both of you out.
