"Good truck just don't spend more than 1,500"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

So far I needed a new battery, alternator, speakers, radio, lights, starter, brakes, voltage regulator, fuse box, blinkers, and steering wheel alignment. I needed all of this the first day I got the car, the interior is completely shot and one window did not work and the trailer hitch was hanging.

General comments?

The car is very roomy and comfortable you could have 5 people and they all have room. The seats are OK they can't recline so they stay in the same position and move back and forth. All in all it's a good truck if your willing to put a few thousand in to it other than that is slow top speed is 85 so I don't do the highway in this and I don't think anyone should in this.

I must say I do not agree entirely I purchased a 1984 Dodge Ramcharger 4x4 Prospector royal le last year. This truck did need some work I will admit. It already had a 6 inch lift, warn hubs,33x12.50x15 Bf Goodrich Mt's they were useless it did need a new steering control box that hooks up to the power steering box. It has the 318 magnum which I can cruise over 85 mph I have always stood behind the 318 it serves the purpose. I was looking to customize to make my truck showable so buying it for 1100.00 investing 4000.00 was an option I was willing to do. Now I know the prospector came with 2 transmissions that year a 727 Torqueflite Auto and a very rare 4 speed. I have the 4 speed which I am not satisfied with so next year I am having the manual swapped to an automatic. I lost a 1995 dodge Ram 1500 4x4 in an accident so I had to find something to take it's place I also liked the paint scheme so in all I spent the money to have it proffessionaly rebuilt no bondo all new stell new everything. The Prospector now has the 95-96 Dodge Ram SS paint which was Blue Pearl Metallic W/Micca which makes it look black at night, but shade shifts to purple, black back to blue. I believe sometimes you get what you pay for, I am not rich to be honest I am disabled and Dieing I just wanted something to show again. The next phase is seats from a Dodge 3500 97 DVD Players, New 35 Inch Tsl's on AR-39's and a new Cat Magnaflow and new Magnaflow Mufflers. I hope you keep your prospector dodge makes great truck.

Just purchased a 1984 Dodge Ramcharger Royal Prospector D-150 4-wheel drive with a 8 foot snow plow. Bought it from a Dodge dealer that had used it since it was new to plow his car lots. He's selling his business and moving to a wrinkle city in Sand Flea Florida. Everything works, 8670 actual miles $3400!

I just recently purchased a 1984 Dodge Ramcharger. I only paid $400 for the vehicle, and to tell you the truth, I feel I ripped the kid off. The only thing I've had problems with is the "custom" wiring this kid has done to the truck. I have a 5.9 L, 360 CI, 3 speed automatic, (only bad thing is it's rear wheel drive) and it is anything, but slow. I take it on the interstate and it runs smooth at 80 mph at right around 3000 RPM. I take back my earlier comment though, I guess I have had to replace the rear tires, but that was my fault. ;)

This is about an 84 dodge ram pickup d150 royal se 318.

I have a few questions. Does anyone know the exact 0-60 time? Also it does not have 4wd will this present a problem in the winter Can it still handle well in the snow? (I live in ohio) a lot of snow at times... and even though there is no 4wd does it handle well off road anyway? also what do you guys recommend as far as new tires for the truck. They are past the wear-bars and definitely need replaced sometime very soon. what is the horsepower/ torque for the 318 V8. Can it go 100 mph???

Thanks (I'm sure if you guys know about ram chargers you understand the pickups as well)

Justin.

They were claimed to make about 140 horsepower and 240lb-ft of torque. I personally know for a fact that these trucks are much more powerful than this and probably make about 200HP and 290lb-ft of torque. And yes, it can easily run 100 mph, probably about 120 mph. 0-60 takes about 8-10 seconds, depending on gear ratio. Even though it's only two wheel drive, it should be alright in the snow if you take off in 2nd (manual transmission) or just put weight in the bed. I don't think it should have any trouble off road, just stay away from a lot of mud.
