As standard this car was fantastic to drive and was great fun, but lacked a little on the handling side (mainly torque steer) so I uprated the wheels, tyres and suspension. This sorted the handling, but then left the engine lacking (more weight and bigger diameter wheels affected acceleration)
The work on the engine along with the handling package has dramatically improved this already good little car so much so that I am considering selling my Golf GTI 16V (heavily modded) as it doesn't seem all that exciting to drive anymore. A 1.3 Polo that will eat a Focus ST170 for breakfast whether it's on the track, the motorway or throwing it round the B-Roads is definitely a good thing!
Eat a focus st170 on a track??
What brake horse is your car pushing out??
Looking at the mods its probably pushing about 100 - 110bhp, in a car that weighs about 750kg. So its not that surprising.
I'm not surprised it will beat a focus st170, maybe a little bit exaggerated, but these cars are amazing for what they are even standard they fly and handle amazingly. so with the modifications this matey says he has made (good effort by the way) I would epect it would round the track especially on the corners and acceleration. straights?
