Nothing yet (touch wood)
except the fuel line came loose as it had new ones on for its MOT, but that was their fault as they fitted it wrong. Its fine now.
This car is a 12 valve 1.4 so it is pretty nippy with 85bhp standard so it will leave most other 1.4 cars and it's a high revving japanese engine.
I've had 115mph out of mine, but that was on a slight slope, 105mph on a dead straight no wind.
The steering is pretty heavy when going slow, but brilliant at normal speeds.
My dad has the same car. He says it is cheap to run and reliable, so he has no reason to change it for something more modern. I agree with you about the performance. For a 1.4, it really is a nippy little thing. The engine is a bit low tech by modern standards, but it can cane a 1998 escort 1.6. Can't beat my 1.8 focus, but I don't expect it to. If I didn't have a car and someone offered me one, then I would snap their hand off, as they are seriously underrated. Apparently the top of range sport models are a right laugh!
Arse carness!!!
