1999 Nissan Primera GT Special Edition from UK and Ireland - Comments

"A rare good quality special edition"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Burnt out alternator due to factory mis-wiring.

CD autochanger fault.

General comments?

Best car I have ever bought. Looks much nicer than the standard GT. Quite a head turner. Special edition comes with full leather interior, 16" spoked alloy wheels and Momo racing gear knob.

Excellent ride quality even given its sports suspension and ultra low profile tyres. Feel very confident throwing it into a corner knowing I'll still be pointing in the same direction on exit.

Average mpg around town, good on motorway driving. 150 bhp engine has all the power you need and will quite happily cruise along at 100mph. Have easily clocked 120 mph with bags more power to spare.

I couldn't find an SE that didn't have badly corroded alloys. Do you have this problem with your car?

I have one of these cars and the wheels have the corrosion problem. They were repainted by the dealer under warranty, but are still going the same way again.

I have a Limited Edition version also with the thin spoked 16" alloy wheels, they are corroded also, really annoying that. Do you know if I can still get them repainted, cos its well out of warranty. If not I guess I will have to pay for em to be done. : (

I looked at several primera gt special editions and it seems all have the same problem with the alloys. The dealer I bought my primera GT LE off put brand new alloys on that are very slightly different to the original - a few less spokes. I've had them nearly two years now and they are not corroding.
