2004 Kia Carens LX from UK and Ireland - Comments

26th Jul 2004, 16:00

"Wanting a roomy, automatic diesel, comfortable carrier of people at a very good price; I got it."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The CD/radio was incorrectly wired in, but quickly rectified when returned to the dealer.

General comments?

Very comfortable and pleasant car to drive.

Turning circle is larger than usual.

The combined fuel consumption is reported to be 37 mpg, but even driving with great care and in an economical manner the fuel consumption is about 34 mpg. I had hoped for much higher.

It is a very roomy car and the high seating position suits me very well.

The controls appear to be very basic, but in fact are generally very easy to locate and operate. A minor criticism is that the rear wash/wipe control is badly positioned, and the radio volume control needs body as well as arm movement to reach it.

My kia carens was recalled for noise from the engine (sounded like a loose fan belt) only involved fitting a washer behind the alternator otherwise perfect car, get good fuel consumption for the size of the car (its not a mini) well satisfied and the new model looks better still.
