"I enjoyed this car, but it's high cost of ownership is wearing on me"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear differential has become progressively noisier over time.

Interior is made from cheap materials so doesn't hold up to wear well.

Alternator failed at 80k miles.

Clutch needed to be replaced at 90k miles.

Water pump failed at 100k.

Optispark failed at 100k due to being flooded by the water pump failure.

Radiator failed at 140k.

Front struts worn out at 140k.

The head gaskets failed at 145k.

General comments?

This car is incredibly fast. There are none that are as fast for the same price.

Reliability at higher mileage isn't it's strong point.

Repairs are expensive.

This car has high running cost due to it's performance oriented goal. Large tires, expensive brake parts/repairs.

It is a very nice long highway cruising car where it's weight doesn't work against it.

The stereo is INCREDIBLE. It comes stock with 6 speakers and a sub-woofer.

T-tops never leaked.

The drivetrain, i.e. the transmission and rear, are bullet-proof.

I enjoyed this car, but the repair bills are starting to become higher than the car is worth. It's days are numbered unless I learn how to work on it myself.

I agree the trans is bullet proof its derived off the viper trans. I also disagree the stock 10-bolt rear end is the biggest piece of crap GM ever made.
